TKB PODCAST: Gary Siskar from Liquid Force Kiteboarding on the Kiteboarding Industry

Our special guest this week is Gary Siskar, the new brand manager for Liquid Force’s kiteboarding division. Gary had extensive experience in surf and snow with such companies as Burton and OP before coming on board with Liquid Force. He is also the owner of Samana Chakra, a boutique hotel, surf camp and yoga retreat in Mancora, Peru. Gary is joining us today to talk about Mancora, what he hopes to accomplish with Liquid Force and what lessons we might be able to learn from his past experiences in the action sports world.

Gary also talks about the problems he sees in the kiteboarding industry and what he thinks can and should be done to promote the continued growth of the sport.

TKB PODCAST: Aaron Hadlow

This week, our special guest on The Kiteboarder podcast is pro rider Aaron Hadlow. At just 21 years old, Aaron started on his path to becoming the five time world kiteboarding champion on the PKRA tour at 10 years old when he first started flying his dad’s kites.

Off the world tour in 2010 to pursue other interests and projects, Aaron joins us today to talk about why he decided not to compete on the PKRA Tour this year and tells about about his history in the sport, his views about the state of competitions, and what we can expect from him in the coming year.

TKB PODCAST: Jon Modica on the Cancellation of KPWT Jamiaca

Our guest this week is Cabrinha pro rider Jon Modica from Florida. Jon has largely competed in regional events in the US and Caribbean and this year chose to do the KPWT tour. As many people know, the first tour stop in Jamaica was canceled after only 15 riders showed up and there were many problems at the event site.

Jon is joining us today to talk about what went down at the event, what he thinks about the current competing tours and politics with the IKA, and how other pro riders are feeling about the state of the competition circuit.
